Woodland Chorale Community Singers Performance Benefits Schools and Community
The Woodland Chorale, a local choral group under the direction of Dr. Harry Johansen, presented a program titled Music of the Spirit and of the Heart at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 in the Frederic High School gymnasium.
Proceeds from this public performance will benefit the Salvation Army’s “Moola for Milk” program and provide scholarship funds for area high school students wishing to attend music camp. Last year’s show raised $1300, which was divided between the W.I.N.G.S. Foundation and Community Referral Agency.
The 30-member chorale will be accompanied by pianist Christine Johansen. This year’s program features a range of styles including Broadway hits, gospel tunes, ballads and sacred music, including works by Handel, Kirby Shaw, Aaron Copland and Rogers & Hammerstein.
A free will offering will be accepted at the door and refreshments will be available during the intermission break. This event is being jointly sponsored by the Community Education programs of Frederic, Luck and Unity schools. For more information call Ann Fawver at 327-4868.

12:00 noon - 1:00 pm
Luck School Bus Garage
"Caring and Sharing Through Food"
The Luck Ruby's Pantryfood distribution is next week; please mark your calendar and also spread the word. Everyone is welcome to attend; you'll receive a good quantity and variety of food for your family, or share "extras" with a friend, neighbor, or family member. The distribution moves quickly so it won't take up a lot of your time on Tuesday, June 19.
The week prior to the distribution we'll learn what food will be delivered and will email that list to you asap. Please know that the founder of Ruby's Pantry and his staff are always working hard to bring in large quantities of good food to pass along at the distributions.
Registration begins at 11:30 am.
Bring boxes or laundry baskets to carry food.
Smiles (and optional hugs) provided at no extra charge. :)
Your donation helps cover operational and shipping costs for Ruby's Pantry. 20% stays "local" to benefit our community. Thanks for your participation and generosity. Also... everyone who attends this distribution can put their name into a drawing to win one of FIVE gift certificates to be redeemed at the April 17 distribution. It's one way we can say thanks to everyone who attends Ruby's Pantry as we keep this outreach program going strong. Thank you! :)
Sponsors are also welcome to purchase one or more gift certificates at $15 each. Our outreach team can either give you the certificates to give someone for a future distribution, or just ask us to "gift" the certificate to a local family for you! Please "reply" and ask for more details.
For more information, please log onto www.rubyspantry.org or call 320-629-7400.
This local outreach program is organized through Bone Lake Lutheran Church.

Thank You, Volunteers!
Luck School is thankful for all the volunteer assistance during the school year. They help our school many ways, whether it’s reading to students, working with students in a specific subject, or putting up hallway projects for teachers. Volunteers are also valuable as advisors on the Community Ed. board, collating newsletters for mailing, and special events. If you can volunteer during the school year, please contact the Luck Elementary office at 715-472-2152 ext. 108 or Comm.Ed. at 715-472-2152 ext. 103.
The annual luncheon to celebrate our volunteers was held in early May. Mike and Jan Bauer were named 2011 Volunteers of the Year in appreciation for many years of serving both at Luck School and in our community.
