The 6th graders built Rube Goldberg machines as part of Mrs. Carolyn Peterson's science unit on simple machines. The six simple machines are the lever, a pulley, the wedge, the wheel and axle, inclined plane, and a screw (curved inclined plane). A Rube Goldberg machine takes a simple task such as watering a plant or popping a balloon and makes it all happen in a very complicated way using all six simple machines. The 6th graders came up with some amazing machines and enjoyed showing them to the other Luck students.
