Luck Kindergarten students recently took a virtual field trip to Antarctica where they were introduced to and learned about the animals that live in the cold. They learned about insulation...much like the winter clothes they wear in winter to keep warm, the animals have feathers or fur to keep warm. They also put a bare hand into a bucket of ice water and described how it felt. This student has her hand in ice water, but it's inside a 'blubber' glove.
This virtual field trip was a first for the kindergarten and it proved to be very interesting and fun!
Communication Is The Key!
The Luck High School Forensics squad participated in the WHSFA District Festival and competed in the State Qualifying Tournament at Menomonie. During that event, each speaker or group performed 3 times and was required to earn a score of 20 (out of 25) points to advance to the State Tournament. 31 students competed on April 1 and 27 will be advancing to Madison for the Wisconsin High School Forensic Association’s State Festival.
Learning is fun for ALL ages! Check out the continuing education classes offered through Community Education under the "Community" tab.
This is one example of a great art class where participants learned to design their own mosaic garden stone.
Grab 'n' Go breakfast is a great option for busy teens!
Grades 6-12 can cruise through the cafeteria before school AND between 1st & 2nd hours (8:43-8:47 am in the HS hallway, shown here) and pick up a pre-packaged healthy meal for the extra energy they need to survive 'til lunch.
Luck Middle School students tackled project-based learning recently and completed an impressive “Asia project”.
Check out the High School tab for more photos and info.
Many thanks go to the teachers and staff who organized this sizable project; we look forward to the next one!
Five Luck HS choir members were among the 255 high school boys from across the state who attended the "Brothers, Sing On" workshop with Dr. David Rayl at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Jan. 27. They were accompanied by Choir Director Jennifer and 7-12 Principal Brad Werner for the day-long workshop. The day concluded with the boys performing in a free public performance.
