Luck Community Graduate Fund
Scholarships providing financial assistance for Luck High School graduates seeking post-secondary education opportunities.
The Luck Community Graduate Fund was established in 1988 with an initial gift of $4,000 from Luck Community Education. Each year additional monies have been added to the Fund. Others who wish to be sponsors are encouraged to join in this growing and worthwhile endeavor. The intent is to eventually have a self-perpetuating fund. Gifts of $100 have been presented to each Luck High School graduate seeking post-secondary education, beginning with the 1996 class. The scholarship amount was increased to $125 in 2006, then $150 in 2012, then $175 in 2013, and increased to $200 in 2016.
Purpose:
To encourage all Luck High School graduates to seek and take advantage of educational opportunities following high school. The Luck Community Graduate Fund scholarship is available for any kind of continuing education: technical school, licensure classes (like real estate), college or university. It can also be used for books or supplies needed for continuing education.
Repayment:
Repayment of the gift is not required. However, since recipients may wish to be a part of our community’s effort to supply educational funds for future graduating classes, repayment in full or partial amounts of the gift is encouraged.
Application for scholarship funds:
After official acceptance into a school, complete and detach the form provided to each graduating Luck senior.
This scholarship is an “automatic” gift, provided it is used for educational expenses. The check will be written out and mailed directly to the school you are attending. If there is a payment deadline, please include that date on your application.
Not everyone continues their education immediately following high school. Graduates have three years to apply for this scholarship. For graduates who serve in our military, their application deadline is three years from their discharge date.
Your thank you notes will be displayed for our community at the upcoming Luck Graduate Continuing Education fundraiser featuring a delicious lasagna dinner.
To receive this scholarship:
1. Fill out the application form provided in May and also available in the Comm.Ed. office.
2. Return the form AND a thank you note to the Luck Community Education office (or the district office).
3. Continuing Education scholarships will be mailed after the school's fiscal year changes on July 1.
