WELCOME TO THE NEST

The Nest at Butternut Crossing is a fee-based early childhood program. We care for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years of age. We offer several care options including full-time and part-time care, full day and part day care, before and after school age care, and full day school age summer care. The Nest is open 6:00AM-6:00PM, Monday-Friday.

The Nest at Butternut Crossing is a program created and designed to provide quality care to the children of our community and the surrounding areas. We invite those who may work in the vicinity to consider The Nest as an option for care. Child care within the walls of the school allows for minimal transitions from early life to high school graduation.

The Nest at Butternut Crossing is a program created and designed to provide quality care with minimal transitions to children ages 6 weeks though 12 years. Our program includes age-appropriate and developmentally sound activities such as learning centers, art, music, and motor skill activities. With the right blend of nurturing and guidance, we hope that children enrolled at The Nest will become confident, independent, lifelong learners. It is also our wish to help parents to understand that we are their care partners, and they are their child’s first and most important advocate throughout their life of learning.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe that each child is a unique being in the very beginning stages of life when environment and adult guidance are crucial factors to success. We also believe that the early years are the most important times for a child’s physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and creative development. We feel that a child’s work is play, and play is a child’s work. We will strive daily to provide children with rich, engaging, and challenging experiences in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. We will also dedicate ourselves to the families we serve by making ourselves available to attend to their concerns and needs. It is our hope that we will help grow strong, independent, and confident children.

OUR MISSION

It is our mission to distinguish ourselves through excellence and continuity of care and education to young children, and through building partnerships with our families. It is the mission of the program to ensure that each child is in a safe and nurturing environment that provides consistency. We strive to provide the flexibility, clear expectations, and appropriate consequences to help children develop self-control. Providing intellectually engaging activities and physically stimulating opportunities will encourage children to grow emotionally and socially.

PURPOSE & GOALS

The Nest at Butternut Crossing will offer the young child a program with a wide variety of learning experiences, in an atmosphere the child will be free to explore his/her environment and develop physically, socially, and intellectually in activities that will allow him/her to be successful in what he/she attempts.

The purpose of The Nest is to love and nurture each child in cooperation with the home to build the child’s objectives of life and education. It is our goal to:

  • Provide safe and healthy indoor and outdoor environments for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years.

  • Instill self-confidence and build self-esteem in children.

  • Help each child grow academically, physically, and socially.

  • Provide opportunities for being with other children in a safe setting conducive to the developmental needs of the child.

  • Provide opportunities and activities to help the child develop a healthy self-concept that includes accepting him/herself, his/her potentials, his/her limitations and his/her talents.

  • Help parents learn skills which promote the growth and development of their child.

  • Provide opportunities to meet with and work with parents and teachers who have the common concern: the interests and needs of young children.
